Mark 6:55 Meaning and Commentary

Mark 6:55

And ran through that whole region round about
That is, the inhabitants of that part of the country where Christ landed, ran many of them themselves, and others sent messengers into all parts of it, on every side:

and began to carry about in beds those that were sick;
or lame, or so disordered that they could not walk, or bear any other way of being carried: these they brought to him,

where they heard he was:
in whatsoever part of the country they could learn he was in; for he went about from place to place doing good.

Mark 6:55 In-Context

53 When they had crossed over, they came to land at Ginosar, and moored to the shore.
54 When they had come out of the boat, immediately the people recognized him,
55 and ran around that whole region, and began to carry around those who were sick, on their mats, to where they heard he was.
56 Wherever he entered, into villages, or into cities, or into the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged him that they might touch just the tzitzit of his garment; and as many as touched him were made well.
