He reignedthreeyears in Jerusalem. His mother'sname also was Michaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. And there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.

And Abijahset the battle in array with an army of valiant men of war, even fourhundredthousandchosenmen:Jeroboam also set the battle in array against him with eighthundredthousandchosenmen, being mighty men of valour.

And there are gathered unto him vainmen, the children of Belial, and have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted*, and could not withstandthem.

And now ye think to withstand the kingdomof the LORD in the hand of the sons of David; and ye be a greatmultitude, and there are with you goldencalves, which Jeroboammade you for gods.
