NowJesus started on His way with them; and when He was not far from the house, the centurionsentfriends, saying to Him, "Lord, do not trouble Yourself further, for I am not worthy for You to comeunder my roof;

"For I alsoam a man placed underauthority, with soldiersunder me; and I say to thisone, 'Go!' and he goes, and to another, 'Come!' and he comes, and to my slave, 'Dothis!' and he does it."

Now when Jesusheardthis, He marveled at him, and turned and said to the crowd that was following Him, "I say to you, not even in Israel have I foundsuchgreatfaith."

Now as He approached the gate of the city, a dead man was being carried out, the onlyson of his mother, and she was a widow; and a sizeablecrowd from the city was with her.

And He answered and said to them, "Go and report to Johnwhat you have seen and heard: the BLINDRECEIVESIGHT, the lamewalk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deafhear, the dead are raised up, the POOR HAVE THE GOSPELPREACHED TO THEM.

When the messengers of John had left, He began to speak to the crowdsaboutJohn, "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reedshaken by the wind?
