A man too poor to present such an offering selects wood9 that will not rot. He looks for a skilled craftsman to set up an idol10 that will not topple.1121

He sits enthroned17 above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers.18 He stretches out the heavens19 like a canopy,20 and spreads them out like a tent21 to live in.2223
He brings princes23 to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing.2424
No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take root25 in the ground, than he blows26 on them and they wither,27 and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff.2825
"To whom will you compare me?29 Or who is my equal?" says the Holy One.3026
Lift your eyes and look to the heavens:31 Who created32 all these? He who brings out the starry host33 one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength,34 not one of them is missing.3527
