I have revealed and saved and proclaimed-- I, and not some foreign god1 among you. You are my witnesses,2" declares the LORD, "that I am God.
Yes, and from ancient days3 I am he.4 No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?"5
This is what the LORD says-- your Redeemer,6 the Holy One7 of Israel: "For your sake I will send to Babylon and bring down as fugitives8 all the Babylonians,a9 in the ships in which they took pride.
I am the LORD,10 your Holy One, Israel's Creator,11 your King.12"
This is what the LORD says-- he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters,1317
who drew out14 the chariots and horses,15 the army and reinforcements together,16 and they lay17 there, never to rise again, extinguished, snuffed out like a wick:1818
"Forget the former things;19 do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!20 Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert21 and streams in the wasteland.2220
The wild animals23 honor me, the jackals24 and the owls, because I provide water25 in the desert and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen,
the people I formed26 for myself27 that they may proclaim my praise.2822
"Yet you have not called upon me, O Jacob, you have not wearied29 yourselves for me, O Israel.30
