Jerusalem to Be Inhabited

24 "This is what the LORD says-- your Redeemer,1 who formed2 you in the womb:3 I am the LORD, who has made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens,4 who spread out the earth5 by myself, 25 who foils6 the signs of false prophets and makes fools of diviners,7 who overthrows the learning of the wise8 and turns it into nonsense,9 26 who carries out the words10 of his servants and fulfills11 the predictions of his messengers, who says of Jerusalem,12 'It shall be inhabited,' of the towns of Judah, 'They shall be built,' and of their ruins,13 'I will restore them,'14 27 who says to the watery deep, 'Be dry, and I will dry up15 your streams,' 28 who says of Cyrus,16 'He is my shepherd and will accomplish all that I please; he will say of Jerusalem,17 "Let it be rebuilt," and of the temple,18 "Let its foundations19 be laid."
