"Do not call conspiracy1 everything that these people call conspiracya; do not fear what they fear,2 and do not dread it.313
The LORD Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy,4 he is the one you are to fear,5 he is the one you are to dread,614
and he will be a sanctuary;7 but for both houses of Israel he will be a stone8 that causes men to stumble9 and a rock that makes them fall.10 And for the people of Jerusalem he will be a trap and a snare.1115
Many of them will stumble;12 they will fall and be broken, they will be snared and captured."
Bind up the testimony13 and seal14 up the law among my disciples.
I will wait15 for the LORD, who is hiding16 his face from the house of Jacob. I will put my trust in him.1718
Here am I, and the children the LORD has given me.18 We are signs19 and symbols20 in Israel from the LORD Almighty, who dwells on Mount Zion.2119
When men tell you to consult22 mediums and spiritists,23 who whisper and mutter,24 should not a people inquire25 of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?
To the law26 and to the testimony!27 If they do not speak according to this word, they have no light28 of dawn.
Distressed and hungry,29 they will roam through the land;30 when they are famished, they will become enraged and, looking upward, will curse31 their king and their God.
Then they will look toward the earth and see only distress and darkness and fearful gloom,32 and they will be thrust into utter darkness.33
