"Tell this to the nations, proclaim it to Jerusalem: 'A besieging army is coming from a distant land,12 raising a war cry13 against the cities of Judah.1417
They surround15 her like men guarding a field, because she has rebelled16 against me,' " declares the LORD.
"Your own conduct and actions17 have brought this upon you.18 This is your punishment. How bitter19 it is! How it pierces to the heart!"
Oh, my anguish, my anguish!20 I writhe in pain.21 Oh, the agony of my heart! My heart pounds22 within me, I cannot keep silent.23 For I have heard the sound of the trumpet;24 I have heard the battle cry.2520
Disaster follows disaster;26 the whole land lies in ruins.27 In an instant my tents28 are destroyed, my shelter in a moment.
How long must I see the battle standard29 and hear the sound of the trumpet?3022
