The Fall of Jerusalem

39:1-10pp -- 2Ki 25:1-12; Jer 52:4-16

1 This is how Jerusalem1 was taken: In the ninth year of Zedekiah2 king of Judah, in the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar3 king of Babylon marched against Jerusalem with his whole army and laid siege4 to it.

2 And on the ninth day of the fourth5 month of Zedekiah's eleventh year, the city wall6 was broken through.7

3 Then all the officials8 of the king of Babylon came and took seats in the Middle Gate: Nergal-Sharezer of Samgar, Nebo-Sarsekima a chief officer, Nergal-Sharezer a high official and all the other officials of the king of Babylon.
