let God weigh me1 in honest scales2 and he will know that I am blameless3--

if my steps have turned from the path,4 if my heart has been led by my eyes, or if my hands5 have been defiled,6

then may others eat what I have sown,7 and may my crops be uprooted.8

"If my heart has been enticed9 by a woman,10 or if I have lurked at my neighbor's door,

then may my wife grind11 another man's grain, and may other men sleep with her.12

For that would have been shameful,13 a sin to be judged.14

It is a fire15 that burns to Destructiona;16 it would have uprooted my harvest.17
