Job 31:6-16 (New International Version)

6 let God weigh me1 in honest scales2 and he will know that I am blameless3-- 7 if my steps have turned from the path,4 if my heart has been led by my eyes, or if my hands5 have been defiled,6 8 then may others eat what I have sown,7 and may my crops be uprooted.8 9 "If my heart has been enticed9 by a woman,10 or if I have lurked at my neighbor's door, 10 then may my wife grind11 another man's grain, and may other men sleep with her.12 11 For that would have been shameful,13 a sin to be judged.14 12 It is a fire15 that burns to Destructiona;16 it would have uprooted my harvest.17 13 "If I have denied justice to my menservants and maidservants18 when they had a grievance against me,19 14 what will I do when God confronts me?20 What will I answer when called to account?21 15 Did not he who made me in the womb make them?22 Did not the same one form us both within our mothers?23 16 "If I have denied the desires of the poor24 or let the eyes of the widow25 grow weary,26
