Beware of turning to evil,1 which you seem to prefer to affliction.2
"God is exalted in his power.3 Who is a teacher like him?4
Who has prescribed his ways5 for him,6 or said to him, 'You have done wrong'?7
Remember to extol his work,8 which men have praised in song.9
All mankind has seen it;10 men gaze on it from afar.
How great is God--beyond our understanding!11 The number of his years is past finding out.12
"He draws up the drops of water,13 which distill as rain to the streams;14
the clouds pour down their moisture and abundant showers15 fall on mankind.16
Who can understand how he spreads out the clouds, how he thunders17 from his pavilion?18
See how he scatters his lightning19 about him, bathing the depths of the sea.20
This is the way he governs the nations21 and provides food22 in abundance.23
