8 And these are the names of the sons of Israel, who came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn.

Genesis 46:8

And these [are] the names of the children of Israel which came
into Egypt
Not meaning precisely Jacob's seed and offspring, but the body of the people of Israel, as they were when they went into Egypt, including Jacob himself: Jacob and his sons;
for he went with them to Egypt, and was the head and principal of them: Reuben, Jacob's firstborn;

7 his sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and all his seed he brought with him into Egypt.

8 And these are the names of the sons of Israel, who came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn.

9 And the sons of Reuben: Enoch, Phallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

10 And the sons of Simeon: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Saul the son of a Canaanite woman.
