6AndwhenHerodwould have broughthimforth , the samenightPeterwassleepingbetweentwosoldiers,bound with twochains:and the keepersbefore the doorkept the prison.7And,behold , the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a lightshinedin the prison:and he smotePeter on the side, and raisedhimup , saying , Arise upquickly . Andhischains fell offfrom his hands.8And the angelsaiduntohim, Gird thyself , and bind onthysandals.Andso he did . And he saith unto him,Cast thy garmentaboutthee,andfollowme.9And he went out , and followedhim;andwistnotthat it wastruewhich was doneby the angel;butthought he saw a vision.10When they were past the firstand the secondward, they cameunto the irongate that leadethunto the city;whichopened to them of his own accord:and they went out , and passed on throughonestreet;andforthwith the angeldepartedfromhim.11And when Peter was cometohimself, he said , Now I know of a surety,that the Lord hath senthisangel,and hath deliveredme out of the hand of Herod,and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.12And when he had considered the thing, he cameto the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname wasMark;wheremanywere gathered togetherpraying .
13And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damselcame to hearken ,anamedRhoda.14And when she knewPeter'svoice, she openednot the gateforgladness,but ran in , and told howPeterstoodbefore the gate.15And they saiduntoher, Thou art mad . But she constantly affirmed that it was even so.Then said they , It ishisangel.16ButPetercontinuedknocking : and when they had opened the door, and sawhim , they were astonished .
