The samedaywentJesus out of the house, and satby the sea side.2Andgreatmultitudes were gathered togetheruntohim, so thathewentinto a ship, and sat ; and the wholemultitudestoodon the shore.3And he spake many things unto theminparables, saying , Behold , a sower went forth to sow ;4Andwhenhesowed , someseedsfellby the way side, and the fowlscameanddevouredthemup :5Somefellupon stony places, where they hadnotmuchearth:andforthwith they sprung up , because they hadnodeepness of earth:6And when the sun was up , they were scorched ; andbecause they hadnoroot, they withered away .7Andsomefellamongthorns;and the thorns sprung up , andchokedthem:8Butotherfellintogoodground,and brought forthfruit, someanhundredfold , somesixtyfold , somethirtyfold.9Whohathears to hear , let him hear .10And the disciplescame , and said unto him,Why speakest thou unto theminparables?11
He answeredandsaid unto them,Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it isnotgiven .12Forwhosoeverhath , to him shall be given , and he shall have more abundance : butwhosoeverhathnot, fromhim shall be taken awayeventhat he hath .13ThereforespeakI to theminparables:because they seeingseenot;andhearing they hearnot, neither do they understand .14Andinthem is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, whichsaith , By hearing ye shall hear , andshallnotunderstand ; andseeing ye shall see , andshallnotperceive :15Forthispeople'sheart is waxed gross , and their ears are dull of hearing , andtheireyes they have closed ; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, andhear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted , and I should healthem.16Butblessed are youreyes, for they see : andyourears, for they hear .17Forverily I say unto you,Thatmanyprophetsandrighteous men have desired to see those things which ye see , andhavenotseen them; and to hear those things which ye hear , andhavenotheard them.18Hearyetherefore the parable of the sower .19When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, andunderstandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sowninhisheart.Thisis he which received seedby the way side.20But he that received the seedinto stony places, the sameis he that heareth the word,andanonwithjoyreceivethit;21Yet hath henotrootinhimself, butdureth for a while:for when tribulationorpersecutionarisethbecause of the word, by and by he is offended .a22He also that received seedamong the thornsis he thatheareth the word;and the care of thisworld, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becomethunfruitful.23But he that received seedinto the goodgroundishe that heareth the word, andunderstandeth it; whichalso beareth fruit , and bringeth forth , someanhundredfold , somesixty , somethirty.24Anotherparable put he forth unto them, saying , The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowedgoodseedinhisfield:25Butwhilemenslept , hisenemycameandsowedtaresamongthewheat, and went his way .26Butwhen the blade was sprung up , and brought forthfruit, thenappeared the taresalso.27So the servants of the householdercame and said unto him,Sir,didstnot thou sowgoodseedinthyfield? from whencethen hath ittares?28Hesaid unto them, An enemyhathdonethis . The servantssaid unto him, Wilt thouthen that we go and gatherthemup ?29But he said , Nay;lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheatwiththem.30Letboth grow togetheruntil the harvest:andin the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye togetherfirst the tares, andbindtheminbundlestoburnthem:butgather the wheatintomybarn.31Anotherparable put he forth unto them, saying , The kingdom of heavenislike to a grain of mustard seed, which a mantook , and sowedinhisfield:32Whichindeedis the least of allseeds:butwhen it is grown , it is the greatest among herbs, andbecometh a tree, so that the birds of the aircomeandlodgein the branchesthereof.33Anotherparable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heavenislike unto leaven, which a womantook , and hidinthreemeasuresb of meal, till the wholewasleavened .34All these thingsspakeJesus unto the multitudeinparables;andwithout a parable spake henot unto them:35That it might be fulfilledwhich was spokenby the prophet, saying , I will openmymouthinparables; I will utter things which have been kept secretfrom the foundation of the world.36ThenJesussent the multitudeaway , and wentinto the house:andhisdisciplescame unto him, saying , Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.37
He answeredandsaid unto them,He that soweth the goodseedis the Son of man;38Thefieldis the world ; the goodseedare the children of the kingdom;but the taresare the children of the wicked one;39Theenemy that sowedthemis the devil ; the harvestis the end of the world;and the reapersare the angels.40Astherefore the tares are gatheredandburned in the fire;so shall it bein the end of thisworld.41The Son of man shall send forthhisangels, and they shall gather out ofhiskingdom all thingsc that offend, and them which doiniquity;42And shall casttheminto a furnace of fire:there shall bewailingandgnashing of teeth.43Then shall the righteous shine forthas the sunin the kingdom of theirFather.Whohathears to hear , let him hear .44Again, the kingdom of heavenislike unto treasurehidin a field; the which when a man hath found , he hideth , andforjoythereofgoethandsellethallthat he hath , andbuyeththatfield.45Again, the kingdom of heavenislike unto a merchantman,seekinggoodlypearls:46Who, when he had foundonepearl of great price, went and soldallthat he had , andboughtit.47Again, the kingdom of heavenislike unto a net, that was castinto the sea,andgatheredofeverykind:48Which,when it was full , they drewtoshore, and sat down , and gathered the goodintovessels, butcast the badaway.49So shall it beat the end of the world: the angels shall come forth , andsever the wickedfromamong the just,50And shall casttheminto the furnace of fire:there shall bewailingandgnashing of teeth.51Jesussaith unto them, Have ye understoodallthesethings? They say unto him,Yea,Lord.52Thensaid he unto them,Thereforeeveryscribe which is instructedunto the kingdom of heavenislike unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out ofhistreasure things newandold.53And it came to pass , that whenJesus had finishedtheseparables, he departedthence.54And when he was comeinto his owncountry, he taughtthemintheirsynagogue, insomuch thatthey were astonished , andsaid , Whence hath this manthiswisdom, and these mighty works?55Isnotthis the carpenter'sson?isnothismothercalledMary?andhisbrethren,James,andJoses,andSimon,andJudas?56Andhissisters, are theynotallwithus?Whencethen hath this manall these things?57And they were offendedinhim.ButJesussaid unto them,A prophetisnot without honour, savein his owncountry, andin his ownhouse.58And he didnotmany mighty workstherebecause of theirunbelief.
