1AndJesusanswered and spake unto themagainbyparables, and said ,
2The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certainking, whichmade a marriage for hisson,3And sent forthhisservants to call them that were biddento the wedding:and they wouldnotcome .4Again, he sent forthotherservants, saying , Tell them which are bidden , Behold , I have preparedmydinner:myoxenand my fatlings are killed , and all things are ready:comeunto the marriage.5But they made light of it, and went their ways , onetohisfarm,anothertohismerchandise:6And the remnanttookhisservants, and entreated them spitefully , andslew them.7But when the kingheard thereof, he was wroth : and he sent forthhisarmies, and destroyedthosemurderers, and burned uptheircity.8Then saith he to hisservants , The weddingisready, but they which were biddenwerenotworthy.9Go yethereforeinto the highways , and as many asye shall find , bidto the marriage.10Sothoseservants went outinto the highways, and gathered togetherall as many as they found , bothbadandgood:and the wedding was furnished with guests .11Andwhen the king came in to see the guests , he sawthere a man which hadnoton a weddinggarment:12And he saith unto him,Friend, how camest thou in hithernothaving a weddinggarment? And he was speechless .13Thensaid the king to the servants,Bindhimhandandfoot, and takehimaway , andcast him intoouterdarkness;there shall beweepingandgnashing of teeth.14Formanyarecalled,butfew are chosen.15Thenwent the Pharisees, and tookcounselhow they might entanglehimin his talk.16And they sent out unto himtheirdiscipleswith the Herodians, saying , Master, we knowthat thou arttrue, andteachest the way of Godintruth , neithercarestthouforany man: for thou regardestnottheperson of men.17Tellustherefore,Whatthinkestthou? Is it lawful to givetribute unto Caesar,ornot?18ButJesusperceivedtheirwickedness, and said , Why tempt yeme, ye hypocrites?19Shewme the tributemoney. And they brought unto him a penny.a20And he saith unto them,Whose is thisimageandsuperscription ?21
They say unto him,Caesar's.Then saith he unto them,Rendertherefore unto Caesar the things which areCaesar's;and unto God the things that areGod's.22When they had heard these words, they marvelled , andlefthim, and went their way .
The samedaycame to him the Sadducees, whichsay that there isnoresurrection,andaskedhim,24Saying , Master,Mosessaid , If a mandie , havingnochildren, hisbrother shall marryhiswife, and raise upseed unto hisbrother.25Now there werewithussevenbrethren:and the first, when he had married a wife , deceased , and, havingnoissue, lefthiswife unto hisbrother:26Likewise the secondalso, and the third, unto the seventh.b27Andlast of all the womandiedalso.28Thereforein the resurrectionwhosewife shall she be of the seven?for they allhadher.29Jesusansweredandsaid unto them,Ye do err , notknowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.30Forin the resurrection they neithermarry , nor are given in marriage , butareas the angels of Godinheaven.31But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have yenotread that which was spoken unto youbyGod,saying ,32Iam the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?Godisnot the God of the dead, but of the living .33And when the multitudeheard this, they were astonishedathisdoctrine.34But when the Pharisees had heardthat he had put the Sadducees to silence , they were gathered together .
35Thenoneofthem, which was a lawyer,asked him a question, temptinghim,andsaying ,

They say unto him, The Son of David.43
He saith unto them,Howthen doth DavidinspiritcallhimLord, saying ,44The LORDsaid unto myLord, Sit thouonmy right hand, tillImakethineenemiesthyfootstool ?45IfDavidthencallhimLord,how is hehisson?46And no man was able to answerhim a word, neitherdurstany man fromthatday forth askhim any more questions.
