2 Corinthians 2:2; 2 Corinthians 2:4-5; 2 Corinthians 6:10; 2 Corinthians 7:8-9; 2 Corinthians 7:11
For if I make you sorry , who is he then that maketh me glad , but the same which is made sorry by me?
For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved , but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you.
But if any have caused grief , he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all.
As sorrowful , yet alway rejoicing ; as poor, yet making many rich ; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent , though I did repent : for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry , though it were but for a season.
Now I rejoice , not that ye were made sorry , but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.
For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.
