And they were all amazed , and were in doubt , saying one to another, What meaneth this?
And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves : who was slain ; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered , and brought to nought.
But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery , and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:
And Philip said , If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest . And he answered and said , I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
And as John fulfilled his course, he said , Whom think ye that I am ? I am not he. But, behold , there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose .
For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made ; and we sat down , and spake unto the women which resorted thither.
And when she was baptized , and her household, she besought us, saying , If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.
Whom Jason hath received : and these all do contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus.
Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said , What will this babbler say ? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.
For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean .
Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.
And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought : for by their occupation they were tentmakers.
But if it be a question of words and names, and of your law, look ye to it; for I will be no judge of such matters.
For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
And it came to pass , that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.
And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.
Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen , or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while , and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds , and said that he was a god.
