Hear ye the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel:
Declare this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying ,
The portion of Jacob is not like them: for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: The LORD of hosts is his name.
Pour out thy fury upon the heathen that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his habitation desolate .
Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.
Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the LORD; neither be dismayed , O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return , and shall be in rest , and be quiet , and none shall make him afraid .
Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.
For thus saith the LORD; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say , O LORD, save thy people, the remnant of Israel.
For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.
Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return , and have mercy on them.
But fear not thou, O my servant Jacob, and be not dismayed , O Israel: for, behold, I will save thee from afar off, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return , and be in rest and at ease , and none shall make him afraid .
Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the LORD: for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished .
The portion of Jacob is not like them; for he is the former of all things: and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: the LORD of hosts is his name.
