When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down , and heal his son: for he was at the point of death .
The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die .
Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead .
This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof , and not die .
This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead : he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.
Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way , and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go , ye cannot come .
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead , and the prophets; and thou sayest , If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.
Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead ? and the prophets are dead : whom makest thou thyself?
Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead .
Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go , that we may die with him.
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead , yet shall he live :
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die . Believest thou this?
Then when Mary was come where Jesus was , and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died .
And some of them said , Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died ?
Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die , it abideth alone: but if it die , it bringeth forth much fruit.
This he said , signifying what death he should die .
That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled , which he spake , signifying what death he should die .
The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die , because he made himself the Son of God.
Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die : yet Jesus said not unto him , He shall not die ; but, If I will that he tarry till I come , what is that to thee?
