But when the people were put forth , he went in , and took her by the hand, and the maid arose .
And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out ?
For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife.
But the same servant went out , and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat , saying , Pay me that thou owest .
But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.
And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully , and slew them.
And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.
Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying , Whomsoever I shall kiss , that same is he: hold him fast .
And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come ? Then came they , and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.
In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled .
And as they went to tell his disciples , behold , Jesus met them, saying , All hail . And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
