1 Samuel 12:25

25 But if you continue to do wickedness, both you and your king will be swept away."

1 Samuel 12:25 Meaning and Commentary

1 Samuel 12:25

But if ye shall still do wickedly
Continue to rebel against God, revolt from him, and depart from his worship, and despise his prophets, and serve idols:

ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king;
their king would be so far from protecting, that he should perish with them, be killed by the sword, as Saul their first king was, or go into captivity, as others of their kings did.

1 Samuel 12:25 In-Context

23 Also, as for me, far be it from me {that I should sin} against Yahweh by ceasing to pray for you! I will instruct you in the good and righteous way.
24 Only fear Yahweh and serve him faithfully with all of your heart. For consider {what great things he has done for you}.
25 But if you continue to do wickedness, both you and your king will be swept away."
