7 And if it is indeed eaten on the third day, it [is] unclean meat; it shall not be regarded as accepted.

Leviticus 19:7 Meaning and Commentary

Leviticus 19:7

And if it be eaten at all on the third day
Or "in eating be eaten" F11 any of it be eaten, the least bit of it:

it [is] abominable;
it is as any common thing, as if it was no sacrifice; yea, as if it was corrupt and putrefied flesh; nay, as what is abominable to God: and therefore it follows,

it shall not be accepted;
of the Lord, but rejected, his will not being attended to.

Leviticus 19:7 In-Context

5 " 'And when you sacrifice a sacrifice of fellowship offerings to Yahweh, you must sacrifice it for your acceptance.
6 It must be eaten on the day of your sacrifice and the next day; but the remainder must be burned up in the fire by the third day.
7 And if it is indeed eaten on the third day, it [is] unclean meat; it shall not be regarded as accepted.
8 And the one who eats it shall bear his guilt, because he has profaned Yahweh's holiness, and that person shall be cut off from his people.
9 " 'And at your reaping the harvest of your land you must not finish reaping the edge of your field, and you must not glean the remnants of your harvest.
