Mark 14:48

And Jesus answered and said unto them
To the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, that came with the band and officers, as appears from ( Luke 22:52 ) . The Persic version reads, "to the multitude":

are ye come out as against a thief, with swords and with staves,
to take me? (See Gill on Matthew 26:55).

46 So they laid hands on him and arrested him.
47 But a certain one of the bystanders, drawing [his] sword, struck the slave of the high priest and cut off his ear.
48 And Jesus answered [and] said to them, "Have you come out with swords and clubs, as against a robber, to arrest me?
49 Every day I was with you in the temple [courts] teaching, and you did not arrest me! But [this has happened] in order that the scriptures would be fulfilled.
50 And they all abandoned him [and] fled.
