1 Kings 8:15

And he said, blessed be the Lord God of Israel
All praise and glory, honour and blessing, be ascribed to the Lord; who had afresh shown himself to be Israel's covenant God, by taking up his residence among them in the temple he had filled with his glory:

which spake with his mouth to David my father, and hath with his hand
fulfilled it;
who graciously promised him he should have a son that should build an house for him, and which he had by his power and providence faithfully performed; or rather which spake concerning David, so Noldius ^F24; for God did not speak with his mouth to David, but to Nathan, of him: saying; as follows.

13 J'ai bâti une maison qui sera ta demeure, un lieu où tu résideras éternellement!

14 Le roi tourna son visage, et bénit toute l'assemblée d'Israël; et toute l'assemblée d'Israël était debout.

15 Et il dit: Béni soit l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël, qui a parlé de sa bouche à David, mon père, et qui accomplit par sa puissance ce qu'il avait déclaré en disant:

16 Depuis le jour où j'ai fait sortir d'Egypte mon peuple d'Israël, je n'ai point choisi de ville parmi toutes les tribus d'Israël pour qu'il y fût bâti une maison où résidât mon nom, mais j'ai choisi David pour qu'il régnât sur mon peuple d'Israël!

17 David, mon père, avait l'intention de bâtir une maison au nom de l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël.
