Leviticus 7:33 Meaning and Commentary

Leviticus 7:33

He among the sons of Aaron that offereth the blood of the
peace offerings, and the fat
Who sprinkled the blood of them upon the altar round about, and burnt the fat upon it, which were rites enjoined to be observed, ( Leviticus 3:2-5 ) :

shall have the right shoulder for [his] part;
his particular part and share, because of his service: Aben Ezra remarks, that the right shoulder was given to him that sprinkled the blood, and the breast to all the priests; and Jarchi observes, that he that was fit for sprinkling the blood, and burning the fat, and went out an unclean person in the time of sprinkling the blood, or burning the fat, had no part in the flesh.

Leviticus 7:33 In-Context

31 The priest will burn the fat on the Altar; Aaron and his sons get the breast.
32 Give the right thigh from your Peace-Offerings as a Contribution-Offering to the priest.
33 Give a portion of the right thigh to the son of Aaron who offers the blood and fat of the Peace-Offering as his portion.
34 From the Peace-Offerings of Israel, I'm giving the breast of the Wave-Offering and the thigh of the Contribution-Offering to Aaron the priest and his sons. This is their fixed compensation from the People of Israel."
35 From the day they are presented to serve as priests to God, Aaron and his sons can expect to receive these allotments from the gifts of God.
