8Nor let us actimmorally, as 1some of them adid, and 2twenty-threethousandfell in oneday.
9Nor let us try the Lord, as 3some of them bdid, and were destroyed by the serpents.
10Nor4grumble, as some of them cdid, and 5were destroyed by the 6destroyer.
11Nowthesethingshappened to them as an 7example, and 8they were written for our instruction, upon whom9the ends of the ages have come.
12Therefore let him who 10thinks he standstakeheed that he does not fall.
13Notemptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man ; and 11God is faithful, who will not allow you to be 12temptedbeyondwhat you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escapealso, so that you will be able to endure it.
14Therefore, my 13beloved, flee from 14idolatry.

I speak as to wisemen ; you judgewhat I say.

Is not the 15cup of blessingwhich we bless a sharing in the blood of Christ ? Is not the d16breadwhich we break a sharing in the body of Christ ?
17Since there is oneebread, we 17who are many are onebody ; for we allpartake of the onefbread.
18Look at gthe nation18Israel ; are not those who 19eat the sacrificessharers in the altar ?
