1 John 3:4-14

4 Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and 1sin is lawlessness.
5 You know that He 2appeared in order to 3take away sins; and 4in Him there is no sin.
6 No * one who abides in Him 5sins; no * one who sins has seen Him or 6knows Him.
7 7Little children, make sure no one 8deceives you; 9the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous;
8 the one who practices sin is 10of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. 11The Son of God 12appeared for this purpose, 13to destroy the works of the devil.
9 No * one who is 14born of God 15practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot * sin, because he is born of God.
10 By this the 16children of God and the 17children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who 18does not love his 19brother.
11 20For this is the message 21which you have heard from the beginning, 22that we should love one another;
12 not as 23Cain, who was of 24the evil one and slew his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because 25his deeds were evil, and his brother's were righteous.
13 Do not be surprised, brethren, if 26the world hates you.
14 We know that we have 27passed out of death into life, 28because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death.
