"Blessed be the LORD, who has given rest to His people Israel, 1according to all that He promised; 2not one word has failed of all His good promise, which He promised through Moses His servant.

"May the LORD our God be with us, as He was with our fathers; 3may He not leave us or forsake us,

that 4He may incline our hearts to Himself, to walk in all His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His ordinances, which He commanded our fathers.

"And may these words of mine, with which I have made supplication before the LORD, be near to the LORD our God day and night, that He may maintain the cause of His servant and the cause of His people Israel, as each day requires,

"7Let your heart therefore be wholly devoted to the LORD our God, to walk in His statutes and to keep His commandments, as at this day."

Solomon offered for the sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered to the LORD, 22,000 * * oxen and 120,000 * * sheep. 10So the king and all the sons of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD.

On the same day the king consecrated the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD, because there he offered the burnt offering and the grain offering and the fat of the peace offerings; for 11the bronze altar that was before the LORD was too small to hold the burnt offering and the grain offering and the fat of the peace offerings.

So 12Solomon observed the feast at that time, and all Israel with him, a great assembly 13from the entrance of Hamath 14to the brook of Egypt, before the LORD our God, for seven days and seven more days, even fourteen * days.
66
On the eighth day he sent the people away and they blessed the king. Then they went to their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the LORD had shown to David His servant and to Israel His people.

INTRODUCTION TO 1 KINGS 8
This chapter gives an account of the introduction of the ark into the temple, 1Ki 8:1-9 of the glory of the Lord filling it, 1Ki 8:10,11 of a speech Solomon made to the people concerning the building of the temple, and how he came to be engaged in it, 1Ki 8:12-21, of a prayer of his he put up on this occasion, requesting, that what supplications soever were made at any time, or on any account, by Israelites or strangers, might be accepted by the Lord, 1Ki 8:22-53, and of his blessing the people of Israel at the close of it, with some useful exhortations, 1Ki 8:54-61, and of the great number of sacrifices offered up by him, and the feast he made for the people, upon which he dismissed them, 1Ki 8:62-66.
