1 Peter 4:8-18 (New American Standard)

View In My Bible
8 Above all, 1keep fervent in your love for one another, because 2love covers a multitude of sins. 9 3Be hospitable to one another without 4complaint. 10 5As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good 6stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 7Whoever speaks, is to do so aas one who is speaking the 8utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving b9by the strength which God supplies; so that 10in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, 11to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Share the Sufferings of Christ

12 12Beloved, do not be surprised at the 13fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; 13 but to the degree that you 14share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the 15revelation of His glory 16you may rejoice with exultation. 14 If you are reviled c17for the name of Christ, 18you are blessed, 19because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. 15 Make sure that 20none of you suffers as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a d21troublesome meddler; 16 but if anyone suffers as a 22Christian, he is not to be ashamed, but is to 23glorify God in this name. 17 For it is time for judgment 24to begin ewith 25the household of God; and if it 26begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those 27who do not obey the 28gospel of God? 18 29AND IF IT IS WITH DIFFICULTY THAT THE RIGHTEOUS IS SAVED, fWHAT WILL BECOME OF THE 30GODLESS MAN AND THE SINNER?
