Then Saulsentmessengers to seeDavid, saying, "Bring him up to me on ahis bed, that I may put him to death."
When the messengersentered, behold, the bhouseholdidol was on the bed with the quilt of goats' hair at its head.
So Saulsaid to Michal, "Why have you deceived me likethis and let my enemygo, so that he has escaped?" And Michalsaid to Saul, "He said to me, 'Let me go! 1Why should I put you to death?' "
Now Davidfled and escaped and came2to Samuel at Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuelwent and stayed in 3Naioth.
It was toldSaul, saying, "Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah."
Then 4Saulsentmessengers to takeDavid, but when they saw5the company of the prophetsprophesying, with Samuelstanding and presidingover them, the Spirit of Godcame upon the messengers of Saul; and 6they alsoprophesied.
When it was toldSaul, he sentothermessengers, and they alsoprophesied. So Saulsentmessengersagain the thirdtime, and they alsoprophesied.
Then he himselfwent to Ramah and came as far as the largewell that is in Secu; and he asked and said, "Where are Samuel and David?" And someone said, "Behold, they are at Naioth in Ramah."
He cproceededthere to Naioth in Ramah; and 7the Spirit of Godcame upon him also, so that he went along prophesyingcontinuallyuntil he came to Naioth in Ramah.
He alsostrippedoff his clothes, and he tooprophesiedbeforeSamuel and dlaydowne8nakedall that day and all that night. Therefore they say, "9Is Saulalso among the prophets?"
