When he returned to the man of Godawith all his company, and came and stoodbefore him, he said, "Beholdnow, 1I know that there is noGod in all the earth, but in Israel; so please2take a bpresent from your servantnow."
But he said, "3As the LORDlives, beforewhom I stand, 4I will takenothing." And he urged him to take it, but he refused.
17Naamansaid, "If not, please let your servant at least be giventwomules'load of 5earth; for your servant will nolongerofferburntofferingnor will he sacrifice to othergods, but to the LORD.
"In thismatter may the LORDpardon your servant: when my mastergoes into the house of Rimmon to worshipthere, and 6he leans on my hand and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon, when I bow myself in the house of Rimmon, the LORDpardon your servant in thismatter."
He said to him, "7Go in peace." So he departed from him somedistance .
But 8Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, cthought, "Behold, my master has sparedthisNaaman the Aramean, dby not receiving from his handswhat he brought. 9As the LORDlives, I will runafter him and takesomething from him."
So GehazipursuedNaaman. When Naamansaw one runningafter him, he camedown from the chariot to meet him and said, "Is all well?"
He said, "10All is well. My master has sent me, saying, 'Behold, justnowtwoyoungmen of the sons of the prophets have come to me from 11the hillcountry of Ephraim. Pleasegive them a talent of silver and 12twochanges of clothes.' "
23Naamansaid, "13Be pleased to take two talents." And he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in twobags with twochanges of clothes and gave them to two of his servants; and they carried them before him.
When he came to the ehill, he took them from their hand and 14deposited them in the house, and he sent the menaway, and they departed.
But he went in and stoodbefore his master. And Elishasaid to him, "Where have you been, Gehazi?" And he said, "15Your servantwentnowhere ."
Then he said to him, "Did not my heartgo with you, when the manturned from his chariot to meet you? 16Is it a time to receivemoney and to receiveclothes and olivegroves and vineyards and sheep and oxen and male and femaleservants ?
"Therefore, the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and to your fdescendantsforever." So he went out from his presence17a leper as white as snow.
