8Therefore1do not be ashamed of the 2testimony of our Lordor of me 3His prisoner, but join with me in 4suffering for the 5gospelaccording to the power of God,
who has 6saved us and 7called us with a holy8calling, 9not according to our works, but according to His own10purpose and grace which was granted us in 11ChristJesus from 12alleternity,
but 13now has been revealed by the 14appearing of our Savior15ChristJesus, who 16abolisheddeath and broughtlife and immortality to lightthrough the gospel,
1117for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle and a teacher.
For thisreason I alsosufferthesethings, but 18I am not ashamed; for I know19whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to 20guardwhat I have entrusted to Him auntil21that day.
13b22Retain the 23standard of 24soundwords25which you have heard from me, in the 26faith and love which are in 27ChristJesus.
14Guard, through the HolySpirit who 28dwells in us, the c29treasure which has been entrusted to you.
