Acts 11:21-30 (New American Standard)

21 And 1the hand of the Lord was with them, and 2a large number who believed turned to the Lord. 22 The anews about them breached the ears of the church at Jerusalem, and they sent 3Barnabas off cto 4Antioch. 23 Then when he arrived and dwitnessed 5the grace of God, he rejoiced and began to encourage them all with eresolute heart to remain true to the Lord; 24 for he was a good man, and 6full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And 7considerable fnumbers were gbrought to the Lord. 25 And he left for 8Tarsus to look for Saul; 26 and when he had found him, he brought him to 9Antioch. And for an entire year they hmet with the church and taught considerable inumbers; and 10the disciples were first called 11Christians in 12Antioch. 27 Now jat this time 13some prophets came down from Jerusalem to 14Antioch. 28 One of them named 15Agabus stood up and began to indicate kby the Spirit that there would certainly be a great famine 16all over the lworld. mAnd this took place in the reign of 17Claudius. 29 And in the proportion that any of 18the disciples had means, each of them determined to send a contribution for the nrelief of 19the brethren living in Judea. 30 20And this they did, sending it oin charge of 21Barnabas and Saul to the 22elders.
