"For those who live in Jerusalem, and their 6rulers, 7recognizing neither Him nor the utterances of 8the prophets which are 9readeverySabbath, fulfilled these by condemning Him.

"And though they foundnoground for putting Him to death, they 10askedPilate that He be executed.

"When they had 11carried out all that was writtenconcerning Him, 12they took Him down from 13the cross and 14laid Him in a tomb.

and for manydays16He appeared to those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, the very oneswho are now17His witnesses to the people.

"And we 18preach to you the goodnews of 19the promisemade to the fathers,

that God has fulfilledthis promise to our children in that He 20raised up Jesus, as it is alsowritten in the secondPsalm, '21YOU ARE MY SON; TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU.'

"As for the fact that He 22raised Him up from the dead, nolonger to return to decay, He has spoken in thisway: '23I WILL GIVE YOU THE HOLY and SURE blessings OF DAVID.'
