said with a loudvoice, "Standupright on your feet." 9And he leaped up and began to walk.

When the crowdssawwhatPaul had done, they raised their voice, saying in the 10Lycaonianlanguage, "11The gods have becomelikemen and have comedown to us."

And they began callingBarnabas, Zeus, and Paul, Hermes, because he was the chiefspeaker.

The priest of Zeus, whose temple was justoutside the city, broughtoxen and garlands to the gates, and 12wanted to offersacrifice with the crowds.

But when 13the apostlesBarnabas and Paulheard of it, they 14tore their robes and rushed out into the crowd, crying out
