Acts 15:25-35

1 it seemed good to us, having become of one mind, to select men to send to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
men who have 2risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
"Therefore we have sent 3Judas and 4Silas, who themselves will also report the same things by word of mouth.
"For 5it seemed good to 6the Holy Spirit and to 7us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials:
that you abstain from 8things sacrificed to idols and from 9blood and from 10things strangled and from 11fornication; if you keep yourselves free from such things, you will do well. Farewell."
So when they were sent away, 12they went down to Antioch; and having gathered the congregation together, they delivered the letter.
When they had read it, they rejoiced because of its encouragement.
13Judas and 14Silas, also being 15prophets themselves, encouraged and strengthened 16the brethren with a lengthy message.
After they had spent time there, they were sent away from the brethren 17in peace to those who had 18sent them out.
[But it seemed good to Silas to remain there.]
But 19Paul and Barnabas stayed in Antioch, teaching and 20preaching with many others also, 21the word of the Lord.
