And they alltookhold of 3Sosthenes, 4the leader of the synagogue, and began beating him in front of 5the judgmentseat. But Gallio was not concerned about any of thesethings.

Paul, having remainedmanydayslonger, 6tookleave of 7the brethren and put out to sea for 8Syria, and with him were 9Priscilla and 10Aquila. In 11Cenchrea he 12had his haircut, for he was keeping a vow.

They came to 13Ephesus, and he left them there. Now he himselfentered14the synagogue and reasoned with the Jews.

When they asked him to stay for a longertime, he did not consent,

but 15takingleave of them and saying, "I will return to you again16if Godwills," he setsail from 17Ephesus.

When he had landed at 18Caesarea, he went up and greeted the church, and wentdown to 19Antioch.
