They came to 1Ephesus, and he left them there. Now he himselfentered2the synagogue and reasoned with the Jews.

When they asked him to stay for a longertime, he did not consent,

but 3takingleave of them and saying, "I will return to you again4if Godwills," he setsail from 5Ephesus.

When he had landed at 6Caesarea, he went up and greeted the church, and wentdown to 7Antioch.
Third Missionary Journey
23 And having spentsometime there, he left and passedsuccessivelythrough the 8Galatianregion and Phrygia, strengtheningall the disciples.

Now a Jewnamed9Apollos, an 10Alexandrian by birth, an eloquentman, came to 11Ephesus; and he was mighty in the Scriptures.

Thisman had beeninstructed in 12the way of the Lord; and beingfervent in spirit, he was speaking and teachingaccurately the things concerningJesus, beingacquaintedonly with 13the baptism of John;

and he began to speak out boldly in the synagogue. But when 14Priscilla and Aquilaheard him, they took him aside and explained to him 15the way of Godmoreaccurately.

And when he wanted to goacross to 16Achaia, 17the brethrenencouraged him and wrote to 18the disciples to welcome him; and when he had arrived, he greatlyhelpedthose who had believedthroughgrace,
28
for he powerfullyrefuted the Jews in public, demonstrating19by the Scriptures that 20Jesus was the Christ.
