When he had gonethroughthosedistricts and had given them muchexhortation*, he came to Greece.

And there he spentthreemonths, and when 4a plot was formedagainst him by the Jews as he was about to setsail for 5Syria, he decided* to returnthrough6Macedonia.

And he was accompanied by Sopater of 7Berea, the son of Pyrrhus, and by 8Aristarchus and Secundus of the 9Thessalonians, and 10Gaius of 11Derbe, and 12Timothy, and 13Tychicus and 14Trophimus of 15Asia.

But these had gone on ahead and were waiting for 16us at 17Troas.

18We sailed from 19Philippiafter20the days of Unleavened Bread, and came to them at 21Troaswithinfivedays; and there we stayedsevendays.

On 22the first day of the week, when 23we were gatheredtogether to 24breakbread, Paul began talking to them, intending to leave the nextday, and he prolonged his messageuntilmidnight.

There were many25lamps in the 26upperroomwhere we were gatheredtogether.

And there was a youngmannamedEutychussitting on the windowsill, sinking into a deepsleep; and as Paul kept on talking, he was overcome by sleep and felldown from the thirdfloor and was picked up dead.

But Paulwentdown and 27fell upon him, and after embracing him, he 28said, "Do not be troubled, for his life is in him."

When he had gone back up and had 29broken the bread and eaten, he talked with them a longwhileuntildaybreak, and thenleft.

They tookaway the boyalive, and were greatly*comforted.
