Acts 23:28-35

"And 1wanting to ascertain the charge for which they were accusing him, I 2brought him down to their 3Council;
and I found him to be accused over 4questions about their Law, but under 5no accusation deserving death or imprisonment.
"When I was 6informed that there would be 7a plot against the man, I sent him to you at once, also instructing 8his accusers to bring charges against him before you."
So the soldiers, in accordance with their orders, took Paul and brought him by night to Antipatris.
But the next day, leaving 9the horsemen to go on with him, they returned to 10the barracks.
When these had come to 11Caesarea and delivered the letter to 12the governor, they also presented Paul to him.
When he had read it, he asked from what 13province he was, and when he learned that 14he was from Cilicia,
he said, "I will give you a hearing after your 15accusers arrive also," giving orders for him to be 16kept in Herod's Praetorium.
