but kept declaringboth9to those of Damascusfirst, and also 10at Jerusalem and then throughout all the region of Judea, and even 11to the Gentiles, that they should 12repent and turn to God, performingdeeds13appropriate to repentance.
"For thisreason some Jews14seized me in the temple and tried15to put me to death.
22"So, having obtainedhelp from God, I stand to thisday16testifyingboth to small and great, statingnothing but what17the Prophets and Mosessaid was going to takeplace;
23a18that bthe Christ was cto suffer, and dthat 19by reason of His resurrection from the dead He would be the first to proclaim20lightboth to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles."
While Paul was sayingthis in his defense, Festussaid in a loudvoice, "Paul, you are out of your mind! eYour great21learning is fdriving you mad."
But Paulsaid, "I am not out of my mind, 22mostexcellentFestus, but I utterwordsgof sobertruth.
"For the kingh23knowsaboutthese matters, and I speak to him also with confidence, since I am persuaded that none of thesethingsescape his notice; for this has not beendone in a icorner.
