When they had been released, they went to their own companions and reportedall that the chiefpriests and the elders had said to them.

And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God with oneaccord and said, "O aLord, it is You who 1MADE THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH AND THE SEA, AND ALL25
who 2by the HolySpirit, through the mouth of our fatherDavid Your servant, said, '3WHY DID THE bGENTILESRAGE, AND THE PEOPLESDEVISEFUTILETHINGS ?

'4THE KINGS OF THE EARTHcTOOK THEIR STAND, AND THE RULERS WERE GATHEREDTOGETHERAGAINST THE LORD AND AGAINST HIS d5CHRIST.'

"For truly in thiscity there were gatheredtogetheragainst Your holye6servantJesus, whom You anointed, both7Herod and 8PontiusPilate, along with 9the fGentiles and the peoples of Israel,

to dowhatever Your hand and 10Your purposepredestined to occur.

"And gnow, Lord, takenote of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may 11speak Your word with all12confidence,
30while You extend Your hand to heal, and h13signs and wonderstakeplacethrough the name of Your holyi14servantJesus."

And when they had prayed, the 15placewhere they had gatheredtogether was shaken, and they were all16filled with the HolySpirit and began to 17speak the word of God with 18boldness.

And the jcongregation of those who believed were of oneheart and soul ; and not one of them kclaimed that anythingbelonging to him was his own, but 19allthings were commonproperty to them.

And 20with greatpower the apostles were giving21testimony to the resurrection of the LordJesus, and abundantgrace was upon them all.

For there was not a needypersonamong them, for allwho were owners of landorhouses22would sell them and bring the lproceeds of the sales35
and 23lay them at the apostles'feet, and they would be 24distributed to each as anyhadneed.

Now Joseph, a Levite of 25Cyprianbirth, who was also called26Barnabas by the apostles (whichtranslatedmeansSon of m27Encouragement ),

and who owned a tract of land, sold it and brought the money and 28laid it at the apostles'feet.
