On the nextday, their 2rulers and elders and scribes were gatheredtogether in Jerusalem;

and 3Annas the highpriest was there, and 4Caiaphas and John and Alexander, and allwho were of high-priestlydescent.

When they had placed them in the center, they began to inquire, "By whatpower, or in whatname, have you donethis?"

ThenPeter, 5filled with the HolySpirit, said to them, "6Rulers and elders of the people,

if we are on trialtoday for 7a benefitdone to a sickman, as to howthisman has been madewell,

let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that 8by the name of JesusChrist the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom9Godraised from the dead -by this name thismanstandsherebefore you in goodhealth.

"10He is the 11STONE WHICH WAS 12REJECTED by you, THE BUILDERS, but WHICH BECAME THE CHIEFCORNER stone.

"And there is salvation in 13no*oneelse; for there is noothernameunderheaven that has been givenamongmen by which we must be saved."
Threat and Release
13Now as they observed the 14confidence of 15Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrainedmen, they were amazed, and 16began to recognize them as having been with Jesus.

And seeing the man who had been healedstanding with them, they hadnothing to say in reply.
