Galatians 1:8-18 (New American Standard)

View In My Bible
8 But even if we, or 1an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel acontrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be b2accursed ! 9 As we 3have said before, so I say again now, 4if any man is preaching to you a gospel ccontrary to what you received, he is to be d5accursed ! 10 For am I now 6seeking the favor of men, or of God ? Or am I striving to please men ? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a 7bond-servant of Christ.

Paul Defends His Ministry

11 For 8I would have you know, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is 9not according to man. 12 For 10I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a 11revelation of Jesus Christ. 13 For you have heard of 12my former manner of life in Judaism, how I 13used to persecute 14the church of God beyond measure and 15tried to destroy it; 14 and I 16was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries among my ecountrymen, being more extremely zealous for my 17ancestral traditions. 15 But when God, who had set me apart even from my mother's womb and 18called me through His grace, was pleased 16 to reveal His Son in me so that I might 19preach Him among the Gentiles, 20I did not immediately consult with f21flesh and blood, 17 22nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went away to Arabia, and returned once more to 23Damascus. 18 Then 24three years later I went up 25to Jerusalem to gbecome acquainted with 26Cephas, and stayed with him fifteen days.
