The a1oracle concerning 2Egypt. Behold, the LORD is 3riding on a swiftcloud and is about to come to Egypt ; The 4idols of Egypt will tremble at His presence, And the 5heart of the Egyptians will meltwithin them.

"So I will inciteEgyptians against Egyptians ; And they will 6eachfight against his brother and each against his neighbor, City against city and kingdom against kingdom.

"Then the spirit of the Egyptians will be demoralizedwithin them; And I will confound their strategy, So that 7they will resort to idols and ghosts of the dead And to bmediums and spiritists.
4
"Moreover, I will deliver the Egyptians into the hand of a 8cruelmaster, And a cmightyking will rule over them," declares the LorddGOD of hosts.
59The waters from the sea will dry up, And the river will be parched and dry.

The e10canals will emit a stench, The f11streams of Egypt will thin out and dry up; 12The reeds and rushes will rotaway.

The bulrushes by the 13Nile, by the gedge of the Nile And all the sownfields by the Nile Will becomedry, be drivenaway, and be nomore.

And the 14fishermen will lament, And all those who cast a hline into the Nile will mourn, And those who spreadnets on the waters will ipineaway.
9
Moreover, the manufacturers of linen made from combedflax And the weavers of white15cloth will be jutterlydejected.

And kthe 16pillars of Egypt will be crushed ; All the hiredlaborers will be grieved in soul.

The princes of l17Zoan are merefools ; The advice of Pharaoh'swisestadvisers has becomemstupid. How can you men say to Pharaoh, "I am a son of the 18wise, a son of ancientkings "?
12Wellthen, where are your wisemen ? Please let them tell you, And let them nunderstandwhat the LORD of hosts Has 19purposedagainstEgypt.

The princes of oZoan have actedfoolishly, The princes of 20Memphis are deluded ; Those who are the 21cornerstone of her tribes Have pledEgyptastray.

The LORD has mixedwithin her a spirit of 22distortion ; 23They have ledEgyptastray in allqthat it does, As a 24drunkenmanrstaggers in his vomit.

There will be nowork for Egypt25Which its head or tail, its palmbranch or bulrush, may do.
16
In that day the Egyptians will become like women, and they will tremble and be in 26dreadbecause of the 27waving of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which He is going to waveover them.
17
The land of Judah will become a sterror to Egypt ; everyonetto whom it is mentioned will be in dread of it, because of the 28purpose of the LORD of hostswhich He is purposingagainst them.
18
In that dayfivecities in the land of Egypt will be speaking the language of Canaan and 29swearing allegiance to the LORD of hosts ; one will be called the City of uDestruction.
19
In that day there will be an 30altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a 31pillar to the LORDnear its border.
20
It will become a sign and a witness to the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt ; for they will cry to the LORDbecause of oppressors, and He will send them a 32Savior and a v33Champion, and He will deliver them.
21
Thus the LORD will make Himself known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the LORD in that day. They will even worship with 34sacrifice and offering, and will make a vow to the LORD and perform it.
22
The LORD will strikeEgypt, striking but 35healing ; so they will 36return to the LORD, and He will respond to them and will heal them.

In that day there will be a 37highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrians will come into Egypt and the Egyptians into Assyria, and the Egyptians will 38worship with the Assyrians.
24
In that dayIsrael will be the third party with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth,
25whom the LORD of hosts has blessed, saying, "Blessed is 39Egypt My people, and Assyria40the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance."
