16Thereforethussays the LordaGOD, "1Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested2stone, A costlycornerstone for the foundation, bfirmlyplaced. He who believes in it will not be cdisturbed.
"I will make3justice the measuringline And righteousness the level; Then 4hail will sweepaway the refuge of lies And the waters will overflow the secretplace.
"Your 5covenant with death will be d6canceled, And your pact with Sheol will not stand; When the 7overwhelmingscourgepassesthrough, Then you become its 8trampling place.
"As 9often as it passesthrough, it will eseize you; For 10morning after morning it will passthrough, anytime during the day or night, And it will be fsheer11terror to understandgwhat it means."
The bed is tooshort on which to stretch out, And the 12blanket is too hsmall to wrap oneself in.
For the LORD will rise up as at Mount13Perazim, He will be stirred up as in the valley of 14Gibeon, To do His 15task, His i16unusualtask, And to work His work, His jextraordinarywork.

Does he not level its surface And sowdill and scatter19cummin And oplant20wheat in rows, Barley in its place and rye within its parea?
