81Drawnear to God and He will drawnear to you. 2Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and 3purify your hearts, you 4double-minded.
95Be miserable and mourn and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to gloom.
106Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.
117Do not speakagainstoneanother, 8brethren. He who speaksagainst a brotheror9judges his brother, speaksagainst10the law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not 11a doer of the law but a judge of it.
There is only one12Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is 13able to save and to destroy; but 14who are you who judge your neighbor?
1315Comenow, you who say, "16Todayortomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a yearthere and engage in business and make a profit."
14aYet you do not knowbwhat your life will be like tomorrow. 17You are just a vapor that appears for a littlewhile and thenvanishesaway.
15cInstead, you ought to say, "18If the Lordwills, we will live and alsodothisor that."
But as it is, you boast in your darrogance; 19allsuchboasting is evil.
17Therefore, 20to one who knows the erightthing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin.
