But aboveall, 1my brethren, 2do not swear, either by heavenor by earthor with anyotheroath; but ayour yes is to be yes, and your no, no, so that you may not fallunderjudgment.
Is anyoneamong you 3suffering? 4Then he must pray. Is anyonecheerful? He is to 5singpraises.
Is anyoneamong you sick? Then he must call for 6the elders of the church and they are to prayover him, b7anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;
and the 8prayercoffered in faith will d9restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will 10raise him up, and if he has committedsins, ethey will be forgiven him.
16Therefore, 11confess your sins to oneanother, and pray for oneanotherso that you may be 12healed. 13The effectivefprayer of a righteousmancanaccomplishmuch.
17Elijah was 14a man with a naturelikeours, and 15he prayedgearnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for 16threeyears and sixmonths.
18Then he 17prayedagain, and 18the hskyipouredrain and the earthproduced its fruit.
My brethren, 19ifanyamong you strays from 20the truth and oneturns him back,
let him know that jhe who turns a sinner from the error of his way will 21save his soul from death and will 22cover a multitude of sins.
