But some of them said, "Could not thisman, who 1opened the eyes of the blindman, havekeptthismanalso from dying?"

SoJesus, again being deeplymovedwithin*, came to the tomb. Now it was a 2cave, and a stone was lyingagainst it.

Jesussaid, "Remove the stone."Martha, the sister of the deceased, said to Him, "Lord, by thistime there will be a stench, for he has been dead 3fourdays."

Jesussaid to her, "4Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?"

So they removed the 5stone. ThenJesus6raised His eyes, and said, "7Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.

"I knew that You alwayshear Me; but 8because of the peoplestandingaround I said it, so that they may believe that 9You sent Me."

When He had saidthesethings, He cried out with a loudvoice, "Lazarus, comeforth."

The man who had diedcameforth, 10boundhand and foot with wrappings, and 11his face was wrappedaround with a cloth. Jesussaid to them, "Unbind him, and let him go."

12Thereforemany of the Jews13who came to Mary, and 14sawwhat He had done, believed in Him.

But some of them went to the 15Pharisees and told them the things whichJesus had done.

47Therefore16the chiefpriests and the Pharisees17convened a 18council, and were saying, "What are we doing? For thisman is performingmany19signs.
