John 12:33-43

But He was saying this 1to indicate the kind of death by which He was to die.
The crowd then answered Him, "We have heard out of 2the Law that 3the Christ is to remain forever; and how can You say, 'The 4Son of Man must be 5lifted up'? Who is this 6Son of Man?"
So Jesus said to them, "7For a little while longer 8the Light is among you. 9Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you; he who 10walks in the darkness does not know where he goes.
"While you have the Light, 11believe in the Light, so that you may become 12sons of Light." These things Jesus spoke, and He went away and 13hid Himself from them.
But though He had performed so many signs before them, yet they were not believing in Him.
This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet which he spoke: "14LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT? AND TO WHOM HAS THE ARM OF THE LORD BEEN REVEALED?"
For this reason they could not believe, for Isaiah said again,
"15HE HAS BLINDED THEIR EYES AND HE 16HARDENED THEIR HEART, SO * THAT THEY WOULD NOT SEE WITH THEIR EYES AND PERCEIVE WITH THEIR HEART, AND BE CONVERTED AND I HEAL THEM"
These things Isaiah said because 17he saw His glory, and 18he spoke of Him.
Nevertheless * 19many even of 20the rulers believed in Him, but 21because of the Pharisees they were not confessing Him, for fear * that they would be 22put out of the synagogue;
23for they loved the approval of men rather than the approval of God.
